L&D and the skills that they need to get there.Towards Maturity teamed up with the CIPD to identify the extent to which the profession is evolving and what developments mean practically for L&D practitioners.
Towards Maturity teamed up with the CIPD to identify the extent to which the profession is evolving and what developments mean practically for L&D practitioners. This new research report draws on benchmarking data from 600 L&D leaders in the Towards Maturity benchmark study, alongside case study research with the following organisations: * Barnardo's * Mattel * McDonald's UK * MOD * PwC * University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust
The study also considers the actions of the Top deck organisations in the Towards Maturity Benchmark. Top Deck organisations are those who score in the top 10% of the Towards Maturity Index. The impact of innovative learning approaches in their organisations is head and shoulders above their peers, and translates to significant increases in bottom-line results.

The report included a number of detailed interviews including this one with Rob Carder - Organisational Development Manager, Europe and Simon Watt - Director of Organisational Development, Mattel International.
Mattel has created regional centres of excellence for organisation development designed to build OD and L&D capability, facilitate connections and drive change across the international business. The team are focusing on outcomes and impact, not inputs, and are celebrating success as they go.

The report included a number of detailed interviews including this one with Anita Esser - Head of Wider Healthcare Teams Education, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
The trust has an established T&D structure which facilitates clear connections to organisational needs, so investment can be directed where it's needed most. The team are also embracing how they can maximise the use of technology and new T&D approaches to facilitate learning in a challenging context.

The school formed an innovation cell to consider how to transform learning. The team recommended a new blended approach and a fundamental change programme. They used independent evidence to engage the wider team in the changes.
